To Kenya with Love is a registered charity sponsoring children in Kenya, Africa providing a child with education, accommodation and healthcare. We do this by providing an education for each child, which otherwise they would not be able to afford. Thus giving them a good chance of gaining employment and breaking the cycle of poverty and dependence.
Many of these children have lost one or both parents to AIDS and would otherwise be forced to live with relatives or on the streets. Where necessary we also provide food, accommodation and emergency health care for these needy children.
Our sponsors also support children in their homes by providing them with the essentials needed for their education or vocational training. Many of our children are living with uncles, aunts and grandparents because their own parents are dead. Sponsorship funds for these children provide for school uniforms, shoes, text books, medical and dental care and school fees or tuition fees. We are also working with local projects that share our aims.

TKWL has for many years had its own nursery school in the slum area of Manyatta. In 2007 we purchased a piece of land in Manyatta and built temporary classrooms for the Simon Newberry Nursery and Primary schools. Our nursery children moved onto the new site and primary class one commenced in January 2008. The first permanent classroom opened in January 2009 and we have since built 2 further classrooms, toilet facilities, dining areas and gardens and playgrounds. From september 2011 we are starting preparing the ground ready to build our 8 classroom primary school building next to our nursery.
Aswell as providing excellent academic education we also provide each child at our school and nursery with porridge and a nutritious lunch - for many of the children this would be their only meal of the day.
TKWL has a board of trustees in the UK and in Kenya. The UK trustees are: Phil and Diane Ball, Joe and Gill Hayden, Janet Newberry and Graham Blake. The treasurer is Chris Squires.
